Bulk Excavation and other Commercial Groundworks in Oxfordshire Committed to Health and Safety
Health and safety is of the utmost importance in every area of the construction industry. At Jason Gillett Groundworks Ltd, we take health and safety extremely seriously for ourselves, our clients and the public. This is just one factor which has contributed to our reputation, on which our company is built. Whether providing bulk excavation, drainage installation, reinforced concrete or other commercial groundworks, our team follows best working practices to maintain safety at all times.
Working across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas, our groundwork contractors are the trusted choice for all kinds of commercial projects. The following are key aspects of our exceptional health and safety standards:
CSCS Health, Safety and Environment Test
Members of our team have passed the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) test, also known as the health, safety and environment test. This test examines knowledge across a wide range of topics to improve site safety as well as productivity. Passing this test provides assurance that our workers in Oxfordshire are, and continue to be, safe at work.
Our contractors confidently identify hazards relating to commercial groundworks activities and take steps to prevent dangerous incidents. From drainage installation and reinforced concrete to bulk excavation, all on-site risks are minimised.
Emergency First Aid at Work
Emergency first aid at work training (EFAW) enables the trained person to give emergency first aid to someone who becomes injured or ill at work. With groundwork contractors trained in first aid, we are prepared for any eventuality. This is especially important in our industry because the nature of our work means accidents can and do happen, although we do everything possible to prevent them.
Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
Members of our team in a supervisory role have completed the SSSTS course and take a refresher course every five years to remain certified. The SSSTS provides a range of skills which enable our groundwork contractors to maximise health and safety on every site we work on in Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.
These skills include:
Effective control of site safety and monitoring of site activities, including use of plant in bulk excavation and other commercial groundworks
Carrying out risk assessments and method statements
Effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
Timely intervention in any identified instances of bad practice
Refresher courses ensure our contractors are up to date on latest health, safety, welfare and environment legislation as well as new industry guidance and best practice. In turn, this ensures the highest standards across all our excavation, drainage installation, reinforced concrete and groundworks services.
